CELEBRATING SPRING EQUINOX – JINEN Butoh Workshop in Nature

The spring equinox marks a seasonal transition from the long night of winter to the light of spring. At this moment we are witnessing a wonderful awakening of nature. In the meadows and woods, primroses, violets, snowdrops and many spring flowers are born, new grass begins to grow, the first buds appear on the trees. It’s a great celebration, a wonderful spectacle of nature. Everything speaks to us of rebirth and change. Celebrating the spring equinox with our dances is actively participating in this awakening, activating the energy and awareness of being part of the universe. Dancing according to its wonderful melody, connecting with our deepest self, embracing our emotions, we can transform them into dance. A beautiful and profound process of purification and renewal through dance.
Nothing in nature is static, everything flows, flows, changes, transforms, everything is in movement, and we too are part of this flow. Realizing this can help overcome difficult moments and situations, which are not “forever” but can be transformed.
Butoh is a dance of transformation, a profound work on one’s identity, of searching for one’s identity understood as one’s original and authentic being, but also of dissolving it, to the point of feeling part of the whole, to the point of simply becoming a flow of energy, a substance in motion that transforms. Experience the pleasure of letting flows of energy pass through you, of being danced.”
The Butoh practice I propose comes from the JINEN butoh of Atsushi Takenouchi, my teacher and mentor for 13 years. To him I owe my encounter with butoh and the beginning of a great transformation of my dance and my life. My desire is to convey, with all my passion, the charm of this wonderful and powerful art form.
JINEN: is an ancient Japanese word whose meaning includes EVERYTHING. Jinen Butoh is a life force that dances with everything. Every life form dances the dance of life and death simply by being alive. All things dance with Jinen. Jinen Butoh is participating with all living beings who are already dancing, dancing in the flow of the universe, this is Jinen.

L’equinozio di primavera segna un passaggio di stagione dalla lunga notte dell’inverno alla luce della primavera. In questo momento assistiamo ad un meraviglioso risveglio della natura. Nei prati e nei boschi nascono primule, violette, bucaneve, e tanti fiori primaverili, l’erba nuova comincia a crescere, sugli alberi spuntano le prime gemme. E’ una gran festa, un meraviglioso spettacolo della natura. Tutto ci parla di rinascita e cambiamento. Celebrare con le nostre danze l’equinozio di primavera è partecipare attivamente a questo risveglio, attivando l’energia e la consapevolezza di far parte dell’universo. Danzare accordandosi alla sua meravigliosa melodia, connettendoci con il nostro sé più profondo, abbracciando le nostre emozioni, possiamo trasformarle in danza. Un bellissimo e profondo processo di purificazione e di rinnovamento attraverso la danza.
Nulla in natura è statico, tutto fluisce, scorre, cambia, si trasforma, tutto è in movimento, e anche noi facciamo parte di questo flusso. Rendersi conto di questo può aiutare a superare i momenti e situazioni difficili, che non sono “per sempre” ma possono essere trasformati.
Il Butoh è una danza di trasformazione, un lavoro profondo sulla propria identità, di ricerca della propria identità intesa come il proprio essere originario e autentico, ma anche di dissoluzione della stessa, fino ad arrivare a sentirsi parte del tutto, fino a diventare semplicemente un flusso di energia, una sostanza in movimento che si trasforma. Provare il piacere di lasciarsi attraversare da flussi di energia, di essere danzati.”
La pratica Butoh che propongo proviene dal JINEN butoh di Atsushi Takenouchi il mio maestro e mentore da 13 anni. A lui devo il mio incontro con il butoh e l’inizio di una grande trasformazione della mia danza e della mia vita. Il mio desiderio è quello di trasmettere con tutta la mia passione, il fascino di questa meravigliosa e potente forma d’arte.
JINEN: è una parola antica giapponese il cui significato comprende TUTTO. Jinen Butoh è una forza vitale che danza col tutto. Ogni forma di vita danza la danza della vita e della morte semplicemente essendo viva. Tutte le cose danzano con Jinen. Jinen Butoh è partecipare con tutti gli esseri viventi che stanno già danzando, danzare nel flusso dell’universo, questo è Jinen.
